Nominations Now Open for 2024 WVAPA Elections

The WVAPA Elections Committee is excited for the upcoming 2024 Elections and is accepting nominations of individuals eager to participate in the continued growth of WVAPA. Nominations will be accepted beginning April 22, 2024 through May 3, 2024 using the following link:

WVAPA is currently seeking individuals for the following positions:

  • President-Elect - One year Term of Office
    • The President-Elect, in the absence of both the President and the Vice President, shall assume the duties of the President, and automatically succeed the preceding President as President of WVAPA.
  • Vice President - One year Term of Office 
    • The Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in his absence or vacancy. The Vice President will organize and conduct, with the assistance of the Secretary-Treasurer, all annual elections and be chairman of the Elections Committee.
  • Secretary-Treasurer - Two year Term of Office
    • The Secretary-Treasurer shall have dual responsibilities, including ensure minutes and other documentation of all BOD meetings are maintained, assist with WVAPA BOD communications, assist the Vice President on elections, distribute notification of meetings to members, maintain accurate records of the financial status of the Association with the assistance of the WVAPA Administrative Assistant, monitor collection of annual dues from all members, and with the President’s approval, assist in the payment of bills approved by WVAPA, and record all receipts of those payments. The Secretary-Treasurer’s records shall be audited every year and upon leaving the office. The method of the audit will be determined by the Board of Directors. He or she shall also establish sound fiscal planning and, if determined necessary by the BOD, chair an ad hoc advisory committee reviewing financial investment and planning\strategies.
  • Director-At-Large (1 Position) - Two year Term of Office
    • The Director-at-Large shall attend Board meetings and shall perform such duties as may be delegated by the President. He or she shall also act as Parliamentarian for the Association.

Requirements for candidates: 

● Must be a Fellow member in good standing of WVAPA and remain such of WVAPA and the AAPA for the
duration of their term. 

● Must participate in BOD meetings (a minimum of 3 of the 4 quarterly meetings) and fulfill outlined role.

● The elected officers shall take office on July 1st, with the term of office running from July 1st to June 30th.
