PA Compact Licensure Bill signed by Governor!

Posted 8 months ago by Lailah Rice

The WVAPA Board of Directors is excited to share the great news that our PA Compact License Bill, WV Senate Bill 667, has been signed by Governor Jim Justice! WV is now the fifth state to enact legislation for a PA Compact, with many additional states on their way to joining. The PA Compact requires the enactment of legislation in at least seven states prior to activating the compact and beginning the process to operationalize the compact. We are excited to be one of the trail blazing states, once again, when it comes to legislation that will improve the practice of PAs and healthcare of patients of WV.

This is fantastic news! I encourage all WV PAs to follow this closely as we gain more states to buy in. This legislation is a huge step forward to allow for portability of PAs to practice across state lines with minimal administrative burden. Congratulations to all!
